I want you to imagine you are a vocalist singing in a blockbuster movie. And, right now you are in a world-class recording studio singing to the movie motion picture soundtrack. The movie is depending on your voice to bring the film to life!
In this piece of music, I need you to achieve two things:
Vowel shapes like ‘ahs’ and ‘oohs’ are used regularly in epic movies, because of the feeling they convey.
For this exercise, I need you to use your imagination. Try to feel the atmosphere of the piece. Imagine you are somewhere out in the desert, somewhere out to sea, somewhere on a lost island, I will be with you on this session, let’s go somewhere FAR AWAY.
This session is useful for learning how to breathe in between long notes. Long notes and short breaths can cause panic if the vocalist is not prepared. This session is also useful for exploring expression in your voice. Having the space to practice emotion through singing is always rewarding and up lifting.
The beginning and ending of a single note is crucial. When sung correctly can make an audience either fall in love with you or shut their ears. Thats why we must pay close attention to our onset (beginning of note) and offset (ending of a note).

I will be with you all the way on this song. Expressive singing, deep breaths (like we practiced in Deep Dive) and attention to the tuning are all needed. I will need you to use your hands to guide you through this song. Hands are a very good way to conduct your own lengthen notes, pitching, tuning. Follow me as I guide you through this song.
Here are some short practice sessions. These sections are isolated sections of the full song. Practice one by one and pay close attention to the breathing.
